First of all, I know we are all tired of being cooped up thanks to COVID-19. I totally get it. I am a bit of an introvert by nature, so I was doing pretty good for quite a while.
And, honestly, I am still quite okay with not seeing people in general.
What I miss is going out. Stretching my legs. Wandering.
I didn’t go out into nature near as much as I wanted to before all of this hit. Always wanted to make it more of a habitual practice – but never did.
Now, I crave it. I have the strongest urge to grab my tent and all of my camping supplies and just GO.
However, I cannot. I do not have everything I would need to make such a trip successful.
Maybe I’ll get out this weekend and go for a long hike. Get the partner-in-crime to go with me. Maybe go solo. Who knows.
I am to the point of going stir-crazy, though.
And I know going out and about and even browsing in stores is still not safe for me. So, I will not do that. But getting out and enjoying the fresh air with a mask in my pocket just in case I encounter someone sounds like a great plan.
Plus, it is supposed to be a nice mild temperature this weekend, and honestly we’ve got to get out enjoy that while we can here in Southeastern Indiana. Otherwise we’re going to be in the middle of Summer soon where it is 200% humidity and 109 degrees and we feel like we are in a layer of hell-on-earth and we refuse to leave our homes.
